Want to know why coaches fail? Coach Chaney explains why and what separates the best coaches from the rest. He goes into his rules for both on and off the court and why it is important that players be respectful and held accountable for their actions. Chaney explains that discipline is a higher form of intellect and he shows you how to use it to motivate players.

    Cutting and Destroying the Defense

Communication is one of the keys to developing winners. Chaney explains how developing a language with players and drilling it every day leads to success. Coach Chaney teaches his players to constantly read the floor. He shares his “Push & Pull” method as well as how he likes to attack defensive footwork and maintain floor balance. Chaney knows what he is talking about as his teams routinely led the nation in the fewest turnovers per game.

    Defensive Philosophy

Coach Chaney was always a big believer in constant disruptive behavior. He didn’t care if it was man or zone. He simply had three goals on defense.

    1. Make the offense pick up the basketball
    2. Crowd the ball handler
    3. Obscure the vision of the offense

In addition to these, Coach Chaney also shows you how he like to guard ball handlers, when to go for the block, and how poor vision leads to poor decisions. This is a great video full of all the little things that made Coach Chaney one of the most successful college coaches of all-time.
