Coach Petigoue begins by teaching and demonstrating the movement patterns within his continuity ball screen offense. The offense is based upon repeated ball screens, dribble penetration and ball reversals. The idea is to force defenses to guard the most difficult play in basketball – the pick and roll.
The continuity offense can be run out of any number of sets including a 1-4, 2-3, or 1-2-2 stack. Coach Petigoue will present to you a variety of options that will yield easy baskets. These options include back screens, slip screens, and staggered double screens.
Coach Petigoue details a number of his special plays including:
- “Load” and “Lift”: Used to attack overly aggressive defenses that hard hedge or attempt to double team the ball handler on pick and rolls.
- High-Low: Used to isolate your low post scorer within a few feet of the basket.
- Guard’s Choice: This is a deceptive play that gives the ball handler a number of passing options for a quick score. Weak-side duck-in opportunities also are exist with this play.
Coach Petigoue also presents effective methods for attacking full-court pressure. Using the 1-4 alignment, you will see the “Home Run” play that is designed to give the offense an easy full-court lay-up. Petigoue also shows you how to spread the floor to increase your opportunities at easy baskets.
This 64-minute video shows you exactly how to implement the continuity ball screen offense that has yielded hundreds of wins over three decades for Coach Petigoue. It’s an offense that involves each player with numerous scoring options. Learn it today!
