Dribbling Drills on the Move with Jason Otter

A series of dribbling drills that focuses on dribble moves at a starting position and then walking into your move. Start by placing a cone on the ground - this will be your point at which you make your move. For each drill, you'll start at the cone making your move. After you've done a certain number of reps, start by walking into your drill; which means you'll take a couple of dribbles before you make your move.

Blow By

In a triple threat position, change speeds when you reach the cone. If you start at the cone dribble hard out of your stationary position. If you're walking into your move, change speeds with your crossover at the cone.

Basketball Blow By Moves

Crossover

In a triple threat position, you'll crossover your dribble at the cone. If you start at the cone, crossover immediately. If you're walking into your move, crossover your dribble at the cone.

To make the crossover move: start with the basketball in your right hand then take a step with the foot that is on the same side as the basketball, push off that foot as if you’re going to go in that direction, and then push the basketball across the front of your body to the other side. Your basketball will essentially make the shape of a ‘v’ when you execute your crossover.

How to Get Better at Dribbling Basketball

In & Out

In a triple threat position, you'll in-and-out your dribble at the cone. If you start at the cone, in-and-out immediately. If you're walking into your move, in-and-out your dribble at the cone.

To make the in-and-out move: start with your ball in your right hand then move your hand on the side of the ball and start to push it across your body. Then as you’re looking as if you’re going to continue that way push off your left foot and cut back to the right while you shift your hand over the ball and push it back to the right. The most important part of this move is selling it to your defender so be sure to use your head, eyes, and left leg like you’re going to change directions. If you sell this move, it will definitely get your defender off balance for you to get by them.

In & Out Crossover

In a triple threat position, you'll in-and-out then crossover your dribble at the cone. If you start at the cone, in-and-out crossover immediately. If you're walking into your move, in-and-out then crossover your dribble at the cone.

With this move, you're essentially putting the previous two moves together. First start by doing an in-and-out move with your dribble then crossover.
