In the opening, Ganon covers what it takes to be a great point guard. Ganon's usual energy is apparent. Ganon is always fun to watch and listen which makes his DVDs stand out.
Section 1 of the DVD covers being ambidextrous with the basketball. He starts with stationary drills and moves into on the move moves. If you have other Ganon Baker dribbling DVDs the first part of this DVD you have already seen. However, it does include Micah Lancaster's medicine ball drills which does give you something new that Ganon does not have in any other of his DVDs. If you are new to Ganon, these drills are what you need to become a great ball handler and penetrator.
Section 2 covers separating on the finish. Ganon gives you finishes from floaters, the Euro Step through, and more. The series of drills in this section gives you about every type of finish you need in your arsenal as a point guard and he'll show you how to practice these moves.
Section 3 covers being able to change speed and direction. For example, a pitcher cannot keep throwing the same pitch at the same speed, or everyone will knock it out of the park. The same is for a point guard. You must be able to change speed and direction to attack the defense and keep them off balance. Ganon will also give you the Cone Reaction Drill that will work on beating a help defender as well as your initial defender.
Section 4 is Conditioning and Ganon and Michal Lancaster will show you how to finish up your workout. Point guards must be the best conditioned players on the court and these drills will get you in great condition, build your quickness, and strength.
Summary
Overall, this is a really good point guard DVD that will give you the skills and drills needed to beat defenders off the dribble. The drills can be done by yourself or with a partner. The middle section of the DVD is the strongest with different drills for beating your man off the dribble, reading the defense, and finishing. This workout is for any age point guard to work at. One of the best things you can do with a younger point guard is make them an older point guard and this DVD accomplishes that by giving you the best skills and drills you need to beat and breakdown a defense.
